The Lac Courte Oreilles Legacy Fund and the LCO Legacy Founder Funds are held at the Eau Claire Community Foundation(ECCF). The purpose of the Legacy Funds is to provide funding for the protection, preservation, and restoration of the water quality of Lac Courte Oreilles. As the Legacy Funds grow, they will support the work of the Lac Courte Oreilles Foundation, Inc. and the Courte Oreilles Lakes Association.
ECCF carefully stewards the charitable funds entrusted to it. It prudently invests these funds so they may strengthen the community for current and future generations.
The ECCF Board of Trustees is responsible for the oversight and management of the ECCF investment portfolio. The ongoing work is carried out by the Investment Committee.
The objectives of the Investment Committee include:
To preserve and enhance earning power by pooling ECCF’s financial assets
To produce favorable total returns when compared to Policy benchmarks
To maximize value with a prudent level of risk and reasonable distribution
To generate a steadily growing stream of income and to maintain and enhance the principal of the assets by aiming for consistent returns through all market cycles
ECCF manages over $23 million in assets and has distributed over $14.5 million in grants since its establishment in 1997. Its partnership with LCOFI will support work to keep the Big and Little Lac Courte Oreilles lakes clean and beautiful for generations.
